The Galax High School Program of Studies is provided to assist parents and students in meeting this goal. Program
offerings, course descriptions, graduation requirements and academic policies are provided for assistance in personalizing
a curriculum to meet the individual needs of your child.
Guidance
At GHS, our guidance office is staffed with two counselors, Ms. Kevie Ayers and Mrs. Emily Guynn. Ms. Pam Key is the registrar/secretary. Mrs. Stacey Morgan is our College and Career Counselor. New students register through the guidance office.

Career & Technical Education
Our mission is to develop a career and technical education program that prepares students with academic, employable, and technical skills. We offer robust CTE programs beginning in middle school and continuing through high school.
Student Handbook
The handbook is intended to provide students with information basic to the understanding of the operation of Galax City Public Schools. Questions which are not answered here should be referred to your teachers or administration. Each student is urged to study the handbook.
